We suggest you have a look at this page, Disabled Bus Passes & Benefits and then look for an application form on your local bus pass office page – the best way to find out is to apply. You may need a doctor’s certificate.

We see that Somerset CC issued a consultation about bus pass use – it included making the start time 9.30 am instead of 9am, and no longer issuing ‘companion passes’ – which allow disabled people to have a carer with them. There’s no doubt that the start time has been changed to 9.30am (not very helpful for those with early hospital appointments) – we have emailed Somerset CC for the results if their consultation and will let you know what we hear.

I was shocked today when I attempted to catch the bus today at 9:15 to be told that concessions now start at 9:30 rather than the previous 9:00 as from the beginning of the month. I had seen no publicity about this, nor can I find any in retrospect. Is this just in Somerset or is it country-wide?

i am so very frustrated that I am unable to find any infirmation about how to apply for the National Bus Pass Scheme.mMy partner is nearly 65 and according to the government website I keep getting redirected to, he was eligible 3 years ago. AmI mistaken in thinking he should be eligible for bus travel anywhere in England?
